The Fairbanks Drama Association, Fairbanks Concert Association, North Star Dance Foundation, Fairbanks Symphony Association, Fairbanks Light Opera Theater, and University of Alaska Theater and Music programs provide a full schedule of events. The Midnight Sun Writers' Conference and Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival bring in internationally known writers and performers. The Festival provides top notch, professional instruction to already skilled participants in the fields of music, dance, theatre, opera theatre, figure skating, and visual arts. World-class museum and fine arts camp
The Fairbanks Summer Fine Arts Camp, presented each summer on the university campus, is host to children and young adults from across the U.S., providing opportunities for enrichment in music, theater, dance, sculpture and crafts. The University of Alaska Museum is ranked as the best museum in Alaska. It attracts an average of over 85,000 visitors a year to its multifaceted displays. Not only are there displays of Alaska history, its peoples, mammals, birds, fish, and insects, but equally important research is ongoing in the fields of archaeology, entomology, ethnology, ichthyology, and anthropology.
