Flying in Fairbanks

The airport is crucial artery to the Fairbanks economy and the Interior. It services over 120 passenger and cargo airlines annually. Being the major means of accessibility, the airport facilitates a higher standard of living for the Fairbanks community as well as higher standards of quality for businesses.  The airport provides multiple services to its partners and  passengers.

Fairbanks International Airport is owned and operated by the State of Alaska and is managed by the Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF). It occupies approximately 3,550 acres and is located about 4 miles southwest of downtown Fairbanks.

Fairbanks International Airport is strategically located in the Interior Alaska on the way to the polar circle. This presents a significant advantage, saving time for passengers and fuel for airlines. Read more about FAI advantages.
