FEDC/Space Days!
Good Afternoon!
I would like to take a moment to update you on one of the exciting events we are working on. FEDC has had the wonderful opportunity to bring several members from the Space Foundation as well as NASA astronauts Captain Wendy Lawrence and Livingston Holder to Fairbanks.
The Space Foundation is a national nonprofit organization that vigorously advances civil, commercial, and national security space endeavors and inspires, enables, and propels tomorrow's explorers.
CAPT Wendy Lawrence, Livingston Holder and three other Space Foundation team members have brought what its like to be in space as well as the advantages of technology transfer/space technology into our community and our classrooms. They have meet with over 2000 students, as well as military, business and community leaders and have taken a trip to Galena for a day during their visit. On Saturday, they will be impacting our community further through a teacher workshop!
A Community Dinner will be on November 1st, beginning at 6:30 pm at Pike's Waterfront Hotel. There will be presentations from the Space Foundation members and Capt. Lawrence, as well as a photo opportunity at the conclusion of the dinner.
We are asking for $25/ticket to cover the cost of the meal, and however, the dinner event is open to all who would like to attend. And please don't worry if money is an issue, just come on anyway!
