Among those are Wal-Mart, Sportsman&#146;s Warehouse, Costco, Lowe&#146;s and others. Attracting those companies to expand to Alaska requires a cooperative approach. Golden Valley Electric Association introduced a new network to FEDC, called Sites across America (www.sitesacrossamerica.com). This organization promotes sites that are linked to cooperatives for commercial expansion. This database is exposed to site selection consultants of large and small businesses and could be a good tool to promote Fairbanks&#146; economic growth.
