The following is a list of farms offering CSA's (Community Supported Agriculture) in the Interior. This list is by no means exhaustive. If you are or know of a farmer that is offering a CSA which is not listed, please email Samantha at email@example.com and we'll be sure to include that information. Membership in a CSA is a great way to ensure you and your family are eating fresh, healthy foods grown right here in the North Star Borough. CSA's also help bridge the gap between the public and its agriculture, allowing people and farmers to interact, share ideas, and strengthen the fabric of the community.
New to CSA's? Here's a quick rundown of what to expect: CSA participants do not simply buy from a farm, they invest in it. Much like a magazine subscription, members pay an upfront fee in exchange for that farm's produce, doled out over the course of the summer. Each week members pick up boxes, bags or baskets of whatever’s “vine ripe” and ready to harvest. The exact mix of each share will differ from farm to farm, and will vary throughout the summer, but one thing will always be the same: a cost-efficient, heaping portion of the Interior’s freshest produce.
Bender Mountain Farm
What: beets, broccoli, Brussel sprouts, carrots (orange, purple and yellow), cabbage (green, savory, and large storage), cauliflower (white, green, orange, and purple), cucumbers, garlic, honey, kale (curly and flat leaf), kohlrabi, lip balm, potatoes (15 varieties), sweet peas, tomatoes (cherry and plum varieties), zucchini.

Calypso Farm & Ecology Center
What: Calypso offers several different types of shares, so the produce you receive is dependent upon the share for which you sign up.
Price: $100 - $625
Pick-up location: 5:00 – 6:00 pm Tuesday at the Southside Community Farmer’s Market – corner of 24th Ave & Rickert St. adjacent to the JP Jones Community Center in the South Cushman neighborhood; 2:00 – 3:30 pm Thursday at the Farm (Mile 5 of the Old Nenana Highway); 5:30 – 6:30 pm Thursday at Ester Park, next to the Ester Volunteer Fire Station; 5:00 – 6:00 pm Thursdays at UAF's Lola Tilly Commons.

DogWood Gardens CSA
