Entrepreneurship Week

Alaska Entrepreneurship Week is coming to the second largest city in a big way!

EVENTS:

Sunday, July 28th - Tour of Farms
Take a peak at our intrepid interior farmers during the height of Alaska's growing season. Get your Green Passport stamped at all the farms along the route and be entered to win a great prize. Talk about green entrepreneurship; the ingenuity, grit and spirit of the farmers you'll meet along this tour will astound you. View the printed map to plan your route or use our mobile google map and wing it. There's no wrong turn when you're meeting these entrepreneurs and experiencing the rich bounty of the Fairbanks Farm scene.

Tuesday, July 30th - Crowdfunding Video Lecture and Panel

Come on out to the Blue Loon and learn how crowdfunding is transforming access to capital from renowned crowdfunding expert Kevin Lawton. After the video there will be a panle discussion with noteable local champions of Crowdfunding:

Amy Nordrum - successfully raised over $3,000 on Kickstarter for the Downtown Association
Lacey Smith Ulloa - Raised $5,000 in less than 2 weeks on Kiva Zip
Nannette Pierson - Raised over $1,500 on Indiegogo for a film project

Friday, August 2nd - Pitch in a Pub

Come to HooDoo Brewing Co. during August's FBKS First Friday for Pitch in a Pub. Everyone gets 30 seconds to pitch their idea for a product or service that will blow the socks off the audience and change Fairbanks forever. Registration will be from 4PM to 6:00PM. Pitches will start at 6:15PM sharp. Get that HooDoo that you do so well and show Fairbanks how great your idea is. Pitch it.... Pitch it real good.

Fairbikes will also be on hand to show off their new bikes, give some pitch advice (they did win Fairbanks Startup Weekend) and judge the whole thing.
